Re: Fitness
They should be getting enough "fitness training" from small sided games and match days! As kids get older they will develop the fitness and agility relevent to the game, that's if the coach keeps enough intensity through traing sessions  As for speed, I've heard good things about &qu...

Re: FFA or FFSA style of playing
The term "Winning" and it relevence is being taken out of context by most. It's a natural thing for players to want to win, it's importance is aimed at clubs and coaches not to have a main focus on just winning but to try develop players with adequite technical ability  The formation...

Re: The reason for Small Sided Football?
SSF is a smaller pitch and less players so kids get more touches on the ball and are more involved  Yes they should be competitive and should want to win, its a game and kids naturally want to win so whats wrong with that :? The only thing I dont like is coaches with unusual tactics to win an...

pretty much seems like a good tactic as this Raiders u/12 side is a fantatsic talented team, 2 hold these boys 2 just a 2-1 defeat personally 2 me was a great result 4 these lads, with a top 3 position on the line 4 premier soccer next season in u/13s some coaches will need 2 use any tactics possib...

Re: Dinamo Zagreb Academy Coaches in Adelaide
In my eyes, a brilliant week with 60 kids attending split into 3 age groups The 3 coaches were very down to earth, but demanded discipline and 100% effort every session from all the kids .......... and the kids gave them everything they had, night after night, even with aching legs, they came back ...

Re: Dinamo Zagreb Academy Coaches in Adelaide
Their under 7/8s train 4x a week, plus game I asked what happens in winter, snowing, do they have a break or go indoors ? Answer: the snow gets cleaned off their artificial pitches, and they all keep training, in -5c temp, ALL age groups, 4+ times a week (it made me laugh, because how many times we...

Re: The message is getting through - foster
Coaching has improved a lot, still more to be done but definantly heading in the right direction :D I've only been here 7 years but I'd definitely agree. However, I do think there's an over reliance on playing 433. Nothing wrong with the system and it's fine to teach kids how to play it, but a good...

Re: Cost for juniors
 Of the players who get paid at these clubs, how many have a realistic chance of hitting the big time? I'm all for high-level competitive play in the state, but having juniors pay this much is absurd, considering a large portion of it would be used to pay the seniors wages. As the person I w...

Re: Junior Parent Refeering 2
Yesterday i was at a venue watching a game, while waiting for the game to start i was watching an Under 10 game. One team scored and the referee went up to this kid who would have been about 8 or 9 years old and said " It was your fn fault they scored" and pointing his finger at the kid, ...
