okay cool.
But i saw the reason for the red card "denying an obvious goalscoring opportunity" but its up to whoever is in charge. Lucky it didn't affect Australia if it was a wrong decision.

Re: Oman vs Australia - Asian Cup Qualifier
Interesting question Doc. Can't agree with you Red-4-Life about a red card as well as a penalty. That's double Jeopardy. There was nothing vicious about the bumbling tackle. That law about a red card to a last defender illegally stopping an attack was intended as a more severe sanction for a foul b...

Re: Linesmen's flags
looks better and is neutral...
plus they have buzzer flags these days so the referee knows which AR is signalling by pressing a button on the flag which sends a buzz to the referee's arm. The buzz for each AR is different so the ref doesnt get confused.

Re: Fourth officials
the referee can if they are not seriously injured or ill, otherwise there should be another official in the stands on standby. As you may have seen in the W-League (Lady Reds vs Perth) a few weeks ago.

With you girls like Fimmano and Wallace to come into the side, its not the end of the world to be honest! And Faul... Cockayne has stood out and i think has been one of their best, if not their best player. I do believe they can be a force in a couple years. they just need to work harder and be men...

Re: World Cup
youre a douchebag. Australia qualified 4-5 months ago for the world cup we were the 3rd team to get a ticket to south africa. Breeze, Cream, Wilson and Green i think are the Aussie candidates to officiate at the World Cup. Same line-up as the ACL final.

i can see where your coming from but it was a clumsy challenge and an obvious goal scoring opportunity was denied, doesnt necessarily have to be vicious.

Brisbane play at Ballymore Stadium, Melbourne the Veneto Club etc. Not sure on other teams.
But at A-League venues as curtain raisers for A-League.

hmm reminds me of the Omani coach although, if the referee were to get injured, the 4th official does take over in the middle.

Re: Substitutions
true that :p
well i cant really conclude that situation, if it were one of my games at a junior level and that happened i'd just tell them to get a move on and if they refuse book them for time wasting.

Re: AUFC Womens - S.A. are in deep sh#*
SASI girls would have the best development as they have a good training program and play against boys everweek. only thing is, even though they are in the u16 league, they have a few overage players which doesnt allow room for more youngsters.

but kewell wasnt injured, the ref could have told him to get a move on and added time or booked Kewell. Possibly even disallow the substitution.

yeah fair enough. its clear theres problems, and they need to be fixed. at least try to avoid the wooden spoon again. Can you imagine if they took a point from Brisbane? or even won...
But realistically, look to next season and make some changes.

Re: Assistants
amen to that!
as a referee not all AR's you get will be good in junior games so you just have to adapt to when they make errors. Ive had some shocking offsides that i waved away. and i hate when they either dont signal or signal half assed and cant tell what they are signalling!

Re: Substitutions
this was very interesting...ive never seen it before and the ref should have allowed Kewell to exit the field the correct way and just added the time on. Im not too sure on the exact law though but its said that substitutions are made at the half way line (assuming the player is not injured and cant...

i do give credit though to those who do volunteer to do the job everyweek, they dont have to so i should put it out there that their time is appreciated by us refs. but the offside rule is very technical, ive overruled an offiside on 2 occasions and the team scored...not a nice situation to be in bu...

with u/19, Res, and Senior games we have official linesman from the FFSA and they are good. Mainly you may have oticed they are younger as well. With Junior games parents are used as assistants and yes i must say i have over-ruled them on a few occasions (with offiside mainly). and its annoying when...

okay, i am a ref but i cant answer that, might need to get in contact with FIFA
but it is a good point i might add. I think the system now is good in the sence that it keeps competitions closer.
