Re: Mitise Pre-Season Cup Round 1

I agree with this comment. And that's what the pre-season comp should be all about. Nasty weather Friday evening. The artificial turf would have welcomed a drink :) You can't take too much from the results as lots of players missing from all teams and the coaches trying new players to see what they ...

Not long before AUFC-W season ends

Then what happens?

A- Clear the decks.

Put the local girls out to pasture for a long rest in WNPL.

And please. No more gold passes to NTC players. It's wrong and they're years away from playing at WNPL let alone W league.

Re: AUWFC Vs WSW

Thanks PM. well said Putting away the chances is what determines a top 4 (finals) and being out of the finals....for 11 years in succession. It'snot an easy problem to resolve because if it were, everyone would be battling to finish top. I see our issues are to recruit/attract the right player to fi...

Re: AUWFC Vs WSW

I agree Sportsbird. yes too late in the season. One win is probably long over due (over 365 days in fact). Do we still think this is ok? Incidentally, I am very concerned with the W League and the number of top end Australian players whom are leaving before the season ends Or have elected not to pla...

Re: Head Coach Needs to Resign

I don't think S Bird has dropped a load on Ivan & Co and has provided his/her observations about the state of the team based on the results the least 2-3 seasons, the decision making of the coach pre-post-during the season re: players selections, player positions and tactics. I cannot argue. PM ...

Re: Head Coach Needs to Resign

Seriously peoples, most of us agree (in this or other topics) that SA isn’t up to scratch with regards to development of players. I won’t lay blame at the NTC or FSA. SASI was set up to provide an elite pathway and that failed miserably. It had the resources at its disposal however, as with most thi...

Re: Head Coach Needs to Resign

I can't argue Sportsbird as you have a good handle on coaching.

We were on the cusp of good times ahead in 2016/17 and since then its dropped off a cliff.

No coach (even Santrac) would make a difference when there is a ZERO care factor by AUFC. we can't even get double headers.

I don't think any coach will make a difference whilst the structure remains as is and the commitment by the club is token at best.

Re: Head Coach Needs to Resign

Cost aside, the product isn't good. A new coach will not deliver much better. AUFC itself is the stumbling block. Ivan would have more resources if he was the coach in a WNPL side. AUFC are appalling. We had arguably the best chance post 2016/17 season to get things right. A good opportunity to set ...

Re: Head Coach Needs to Resign

Abysmal state at the moment and something ALL of us aren’t proud of. Bottom of the ladder. Ineffectual attack and defence. Players out of position. No end in sight to the misery. Media coverage is non-existent. AUFC as a collective is distancing itself from the women. I haven’t been to one game this...

Sad that I read this but I’m not surprised. I have no idea whom the people/person is or which clubs are/were involved. There are many people involved at club land in either a coaching or official role and they are good and decent. If threatening, disrespectful or behaviour that is sexual harassment ...

Sportsbird been a while since I've replied to anything. Here goes. Your comments are well thought out and you make some good points re: player placement and that Willacy has prevented some ugly score lines. This was also the case last season. My prediction is that Sarah will be at an eastern states ...

Re: Lady Reds In Disarray

Agreed PM. Everyone should note that a lot of the comments albeit directed to some players is about the team as a collective and more importantly how the decision making, the support by AUFC and year after year stumbling and bumbling is unacceptable. In 3 years time many of the names we've been anal...

I'm talking 2019. You said AUFC - pretty sure AUFC did not run the W-League side in 2015-17.

Re: Lady Reds In Disarray

Yes Scipio the coach lives and dies by their results. He is a good coach however, if you sat with him I am certain he would tell you what is missing in order for the team and him to deliver better results. He basically has a team that comes together at the start of the season. Players of different b...

Any changes to this team so that we can get a much needed win? Close enough isn't good enough. Wins are needed NOW if we are to make the finals.

Legends game and Guess what?

Great game last Sunday as the curtain raiser. Well done to Moore and Quigley. Both great servants of the game.

I heard around the ground on Sunday that one of the players' in that game was eyeing a return to Adelaide for the 2020 WNPL season.

Fingers crossed this happens.

Re: Adelaide City Appoints Max Primaro as Head Coach

A fair and accurate assessment. It’s about the depth of talent in the women’s competition. Unlike the men’s, if a group of talented and hardworking, aspirational players leave an NPL club it’s not easy to replace them. If a club mishandles its women’s program, it can go from top to bottom within a s...

I'll be careful how I frame this post. SB isn't totally wrong. Let's put it that way. Players are having a voice. As they should because they want to be assured that the right person has been appointed and that the club has done its due diligence in appointing the head coach. They should be concerne...

Re: Matildas being paid a quarter of average wage

On the cusp of season 2019/2020 has there been an improvement on what the players are receiving at AUFC-W. I heard towards the end of last AUFC-C that the players were going to get a minimum of $13,000 for this season. If it does happen it'll be long overdue. The last 3 seasons have steady improveme...
