Re: Is your son/daughter trialling for Sapsasa?
So what's the middle ground then? Parents get criticised because they are reluctant to bring their kids out to training a couple of times a week and then others are criticised for taking their kids out for too much training. What's the answer? Your question is a complex one to answer. Some kids wil...

Re: Is your son/daughter trialling for Sapsasa?
Its about categorising, and putting whats important to your child in order In no particular order, they may have this in a week ........ Club / 2-3 trainings + game Stic / 1-2 trainings? School / 1 training? + game SAPSASA / 1-2 trainings? That is ALOT of trainings in a week, and if continued for a...

Re: Is your son/daughter trialling for Sapsasa?
There's so many programs. At least SAPSASA is supported by the education department. Sure there are some great players that play SAPSASA but nine times out of ten, if they're good they already play in a decent team. What bothers me are the others pedlars that suggest things may happen of you join th...

Re: National Training Centre (NTC)
My son has been playing the game for a while so we've been involved with it in some capacity for five years or so (Team Manager and other roles) He has played SAPSASA, in two different associations and has won league medals and numerous cups (including Adelaide competition). He has played indoor and...

Re: smashing teams in juniors
JSL should not be in cup and if anything have their own. There are a lot of good JSL teams that can more than hold their own against all but the top JPL teams especially at the younger age groups. Para Hill under 12 JSL team got to final of cup last year beating some stong JPL teams (Raiders and Bi...

Re: smashing teams in juniors
Lol. Because in life it's always fair and people always show mercy. It builds character and makes the person. But then again these days we need to wrap them in cotton wool don't we? ........... let's see your reaction when the other team laugh at him after belting in 12 goals........ Thats where th...

Re: smashing teams in juniors
Fact is, those kids that will play at a higher level are more competitive than those that won't, and being on the wrong end of a belting only drives them harder. The ones that want to give up after getting thumped were never going to play sport at any level anyway. Kids should be trained to show no...

Re: smashing teams in juniors
My sons first season as a goalkeeper saw him let in 4-10 goals per game (U9's). He never gave up. I think he's one of the top 6 in his age group now, certainly toughened him up in goals and made him work. I'm pretty sure if his team were ever up by that much, he wouldn't want them to stop. Good com...

Re: smashing teams in juniors
maybe by a margin of 5 goals which I think is a safe figure and then maybe set your team a target of completing a certain amount of passes before shooting or swapping the teams forwards in defence. And no not affiliated to any team who has been thumped. I can't speak for all coaches but for sure the...

Re: Cup Round 1
Does anyone know if there is a full list of results for all the cup round games? I dont seem to be able to find one on either the FFSA site or Sporting Pulse/results site...or do we just wait until the next cup draw to see who is remaining...? Wishful thinking. The FFSA site is the last place to lo...

It is understood that many kids are justifiably setting their priorities on their education. There will be a secondary impact on club finances.

Crowds at ACL games
Ulsan vs Brisbane doesn't seem to be drawing a lot of interest. A few other games have had very poor crowds. Wouldn't think it would be a good financial decision for the clubs.

Re: round 2 results
I guess the only way we'll know whether Skillaroos works is whether these players go on with it in years to come. I watched many of these boys last year and they did deserve selection on talent but some needed harnessing, particularly in team play. If Skillaroos can do this great, raw talent and vi...

Re: Sunday Mail country AFL team liftout
The media knows what sells it papers and sells ad space on TV. Although a lot of these people that run these organisations will enjoy AFL it comes down to who pays their bills. It's been proven that football (the world game) can draw good crowds in Adelaide and thousands play the game. Whoever contr...

Re: Olyroos bottom of the qualifying group
End of the day the buck stops with the coaches. I don't know too much about the womens side of things but Australia is one of the top Asian sides. For us to not be at the Olympics is a failure and Vidmar, whatever the circumstances needs to go. We need to stop accepting failure. Yes, the coach has ...
