Re: ADELAIDE COBRAS JUNIOR TRIALS 2012 FOR Under 13 Girls

What about the girls who came second in the division this year? Will there be a u15 squad for those who have to move up?

Re: W-League team announced

Sad Gal, I understand your point about losing players from the game and your cynicism towards FFSA, but your comment is pretty harsh with respect to the players selected, even for you. Those girls don't deserve that.

Re: STIC tournament

Two U14 games starting at 9am, then a w-league trial game, then 2 more u14 games. Part of trial process for NTC squad that will play in prems next year.

Re: STIC tournament

They're all in the same boat. The optomistic part of me wants to say that the scheduling is deliberate and it is all a test, which it should be IMO. The other part reminds me that we only had trials less than three weeks ago and just got the fixtures on Tuesday. I guess we all need to choose what to...

Re: Rumours for 2012

From third place in Div 2 to Prems- That's a lot of teams to get through. Sounds like a long-term plan to me. Nothing wrong with a long-term plan! Good luck to them if that's what they're setting out to do and that rumor is true.-

Re: STIC tournament

Thanks M@rvin. Interesting that teams each play back to back games once on the weekend. And no prelim or grand finals. Must be trying to take Win/lose out of the equation so the coaches and teams can focus on play the system?

Re: STIC tournament

Friday night? That's interesting- tournament has always been Saturday, Sunday, Monday- I'd really like to know if we're playing in Burton on Friday night as we are in the south and that's a long hike in rush hour traffic. Given that rials were only held two and a half weeks before the tournament I g...

STIC tournament

Does anyone have a fixtures list for the STIC tournament this weekend? I know I'm being optimistic in thinking that one might exist already when there are still 5 days left until the tournament-

Re: FFSA Girls and Womens Cup Finals

The fulham girls played a cracker and deserved the win. To be fair The uni girls played their hearts out- those young girls just play the game, they don't print the shirts- the adults do. So let's all just celebrate a great cup finals day- all the games were well contested (save the 10-1 PH united w...

Re: FFSA Girls and Womens Cup Finals

Unfortunately, if you read carefully, it's three up three down within the seniors, and three up three down within the juniors.. Between the two is not covered and therefore you could interpret that to mean that age eligible juniors have free movement without restrictions as to numbers moving down or...

Re: Rumours and such

It isn't personal, but I think the point is that rumours can be destructive in that people sometimes give them weight. Women's soccer is unstable enough as it is without someone, out for a bit of fun or whatever, introducing wild, unsubstantiated rumours into the mix. Clubs are trying to improve and...

Re: Girls STIC 2011

I'm guessing that since the age groups have changed, with U13 and U14 only having one birth-year each, that they had to consolidate in order to get enough players- just a guess though.

Caretaker, I think vague, speculative comments like that which call into question someone's character are unnecessary, and in this case completely inaccurate.

Re: cumberland parents

I have to point out that Uni haven't cheated, as they haven't violated any rules, just exploited loopholes. I would argue that they have violated the spirit of the rules and of junior football in general- how do the players that were replaced in last week's cup round develop? Is it a development opp...

Re: cumberland parents

Every team has parents associated with it who get caught up in the heat of an exciting game and say inappropriate things, as inappropriate as tarring all "Cumberland parents" with the same brush. Uni's club policy of replacing girls in a side with age eligible players from higher divisions...

Re: "One Team Clubs " - a league of their own ?

Div 3's might have done it all on their own. I can say that the U17's will win the cup due to "noticeable stacking". Within the rules, perhaps, But stacking nonetheless.
