Re: Season 2020
I agree that a full 18 game league season should be the objective...but I don't think that's realistic for several reasons: - we are unlikely to be able to kick a ball in large enough groups to train (let alone play) before June 1 (at best) based on NRL plans for NSW community sport - which are the...

Re: Season 2020
18 rounds , no cup, no catch up weekends, (if catch ups required due to potential promotion/relegation/league champs etc play midweek. Plenty of grounds with lighting these days ,negotiate with clubs to allow midweek) If clubs share with cricket clubs they should inform SAASL and they play home gam...

Re: Season 2020
I like the idea of playing 9 league games and playing everyone once. However I think there should be no promotion or relegation under such a circumstance - H & A is the only fair way to determine these things. The 9 game league season would purely be for the purpose of giving players and Clubs ...

Re: Season 2020
Could also look at playing mid week games, so 2 games a week to get all 18 games in and not have to play too late into the year. Start mid June could play 18 games (no cup) by early October. Yeah not bad, but couple of issues with that 1) Teams like Port Pirie or Murray Bridge bit hard if not impos...

Season 2020
As everyone is aware Football nationally has been suspended until May 31st at the earliest I know SAASL are working hard to plan around a possible commencement and how that could look. I know one potential option is still to play and 18 game season - personally I can't see that happening 1) Strong C...

Re: Another higher division side defects
Interesting trend where teams who don't quite make it then move to the State League, doesn't look like the teams that have done this have moved forward much but they were by definition going backwards so didn't have much to lose

Re: Matildas/Women's World Cup
Congratulations to the Matildas for the 1-0 win over Chile last night. I was unable to be there, but it was good to see a healthy crowd on a Tuesday night. I was also happy to read that the State Government has now officially backed the bid for the 2023 Women's World Cup bid. They copped a backlash...

That's a bizarre statement after his team only managed to win 3 games all year and were relegated?JayCody wrote:Jeff is a great coach who comes under a lot of unnecessary scrutiny, someone with his knowledge should be coaching in State League 1/2.

Awesome day up in Port Pirie yesterday. Great weather (possibly a tiny bit hot) amazing facility they have and a really good crowd. They did what they had to do yesterday winning a thrilling end to end game, 5-3, however all credit to West Beach for equally doing what they needed to do and beating P...

Both Easties teams wrapped up div 2 today :D Not yet, West Beach only need to win 26-0 That still wont make up the 6 point gap   Hmmm, pretty sure we were talking about the reserves PHE 51 PTS and 83 GD WB 48 PTS and 33 GD So West Beach have a great chance Yes, as previously mentioned PHE...

Re: 2019 Champions & Promotion
Division 2 Sunday is still interesting PHE will definitely win the Reserves Rowe Park and Macedonia relegated Three teams could still win it, however I believe PHE will due to better goal difference However Savoy could still jump West Beach and move in to second spot if they win their last 2 games, ...
