Re: AUFC-W v WSW
just watching the highlights on facebook w league site, looks to me like a different game to one described here - I thought both teams had chances WSW probably slightly better and having 4 more shots on goal. Just in that short highlights reel both teams defenders caught badly with ball watching not...

that is interesting - so only 25% of the population who have fuxtel can watch it ??? how many of them like cricket ? before it started Ch 7 were making it look like they were showing all BBL games as we did not get any of the one day series on free to air . To be honest i havent really missed it, th...

Re: Jenna McCormick Signs with Melbourne City
i admire the passion you put into your posts Sportsbird, I think you will find it had to with dollars, AU did not even come close to what Melb City offered Jenna was too good to refuse. I do wonder though about the players whose parents pay a fortune and are promised the world when they attend these...

Re: State league 2021
State League ? struggle to have enough quality WNPL players for all eight teams Having said that there are some players playing WNPL Reserves who would be playing WNPL if they were at another club What happens if at the end of 2021 season, a team to nominates or qualifies to play WNPL , must they be...

I admire your optimism and while Metro are the only team to beat Ade City this year, I worry that they played their GF last week, that was a battle of epic proportions . Ade city 5-2 .

Re: Coaching Movements
why would you want to be involved with a club ( WA ) or a coach ( TJ ) who operate like that ? Trouble with the women's game in SA is lack of loyalty, from some players and clubs - irony former SI coach is now involved at Metro. If the players and coach at SI are not hurting they should be - coming ...

Re: Coaching Movements
when you pay top dollar for an International striker and she does not score in the games that count ( Finals ) two weeks in a row now, your team does not win because you have become so reliant on her scoring. Maybe she should do the school holiday clinics for free let the club keep the money :) Coac...

I hate to say, famous words of John Warren, "I told you so" what an intense match Metro came from behind twice what a finals series Cockayne is having goal assist last week for the winner, and then pops up and scores the winner in this game. offsides Metro 3 - Rojas 12 about sums it up Goi...

Re: Coaching Movements
Two interesting matches last Friday fortnight, West Adelaide women seem to have caught the same virus that affects the mens team where they have so much promise but fall away at critical times. They need to learn when things arent going their way, they need to to dig deep and work harder to make thi...

to help the umpires avoid making any controversial decisions, why don't they just award a goal, any time the ball goes between the goal posts, whether it was touched or rushed through or punched by a defender, just award a goal, make things a lot simpler, save some time wasted on checking several t...

Re: AUFC - W season 2020-2021
Admire your positive post , would be good to see more local players given the opportunity to compete at W league level. The standard would be more even given all our best players are overseas, and it would unearth some new local talent. It would need financial backing from FFA, especially for the Vi...

Re: Season review to date
With the lack of marking players in todays game I wonder if that is what is being taught on coaching courses I say that because you see a lot of goals in the A league as well where you will have up to 4 defenders inside the 18 yd box not marking anyone while there are two or sometimes three attacker...

Re: Season review to date
Standard has been very poor this year makes you wonder what is going on, with all the development programmes and all the academies, why are there not more quality players coming through. Then to have a side like Inter with all their stars they have recruited, only to resort to play "kick it lon...

Re: Season 2020
the standard has been very average this season I dont know if it is because of the the interrupted season or not, you would think being wnpl players they would step it once it got going. From the few matches I have watched Adelaide City and West Adelaide have been the best teams, and you are Salis i...

It's simply that often times people post sweeping generalisations on here without any factual support whatsoever and so the truth becomes what they say it is, no matter whether there is substantiation or not. I was just looking for some specific examples for the arguments being put forward on here....

Re: WNPL ROUND 5
After watching a few WNPL games of late, I have to say that the standard is woeful ! You would think after all these years of top level women's football that their would be an improvement but it doesn't seem to be the case. Why is that?? not just the standard of play that has dropped but also the l...

Re: WNPL ROUND 5
tried watching on you tube - for me there is a lot of arrogance in that Inter team especially from their striker how many times they kicked the ball away when Fulham about to take free kick - switched over after 20 minutes, very sub standard match for wnpl - Adelaide City versus junior team a little...

Re: Australia & New Zealand to host FIFA Women's World Cup 2023
why does it need an upgrade ?
average attendance for women's world cup qualifying match is between 10,000 -12,000
why spend all that money for a one off event, even if Matildas end up in the group that play here
a packed stadium every game makes for great atmosphere, whoever gets to play here.

Aussie team will flop in 2023 out in first round, but there'll be plenty of rainbow flags to distract from the actual football rest of world is getting better and the window for Australia has peaked we missed our opportunity at last world cup we blew it Only one country who has hosted the world cup...
