Re: Shortage of Goalkeepers ?

Thats because they all think they have some hidden talent as a striker and are playing on the field somewhere.

Being a good footy player doesnt make you a good goalkeeper. Might mean you can catch, but theres a little more to it than that. :)

The keeping skills are still there Marooned. you pulled off some pearler saves in the last game of the Downs C2's V Florina game. The 11 that went past you were all flukes. :) Would have been 20 if not for you. How's the back now?

Re: pontians V Florina C's

As I was in the middle of this push and shove, I can honestly say that all of the information in the original posts by Pontian 1 and Florie4 life are total and utter propaganda and these feeble attempts to give Florina a bad name are looking like back firing on this Eagle. Give it a rest and get on ...

Re: Who's next in the amatuer league

we at florina could be in trouble if one decided to retire, as there would be a domino effect. The likes of Big Trev, McGregor, Lucky, Degioia, Brendy, Franky Marron. Then there would be the younger ones who can still play Feds leave cause the older guys are retiring and think that there is nothing...

Being the underdogs winning promotion from div 2 the previous year to go undefeated and win the 1st division with Macedonia United in 99. Only conceding 12 goals for the year was a highlight aswell. Losing the cup final to the Vale was the only dampner.

Re: What Happened between Florina and Gardens today ??

I probably shouldn't comment as I was not there either, however I have spoken to a player who was playing. From my understanding the Goal keeper was punished for his actions and was red carded. Nothing else but the usual push and shove and players seperating other players happened until the away tea...

Re: Division 1 C Teams

I was speaking to a Ref yeasterday and he was telling me that only Divs 1 - 4 will get official refs this year. None for the C's / Div 8 A's at all. Not sure if thats the same as previous years , but now that im in the Div 8 A's it would be nice to not have the home team Refs every week. If an offic...

Re: C Team Fixturing for Division 1 Clubs

What about those younger C team players that are on the verge of promotion to the B's? They first of all won't be seen by the B team coach and wont be able to sit on the bench for the b's. This will mean B teams will have to take bigger squads into games as they cant just take off the better C team ...

A well known rule to all street teams the closest to the goals can touch the ball with his hands. Either that or you can't shoot outside the six yard box. Any other ideas? That was always called monkey rush in my street. Rush goalie was the keeper was allowed to charge up field, but still only he c...

After Sunday's game, Robbie Greenwood has proven to be in the top two in the league. You should see the saves he pulls off at training. Such a hard working player and a top bloke. Organises the defence well, is confident coming for the ball and a great shot stopper. I think that to be considered th...
