Re: WNPL ROUND 1

I feel this will be a very close run thing between City and West and it could go either way. One consideration is that neither appear to have a genuine prems quality keeper listed in their squads this year. Sarah wasn't listen in the Westies senior squad in the FSA WNPL season preview yesterday and ...

Mitise PreSeason CUP round 3

3rd round of the pre-season comp tonight.
Interestingly, all 4x teams guaranteed to play in next weeks finals are all playing the early games
Still plenty of players missing for all teams but it's always good to see some of the fringe players getting a chance to show what they can do

Re: Mitise PreSeason CUP round 2

from my understanding Comets have only picked up 2 new players from last year. A GK that only has half a season left of her visitor visa and a train on from Adelaide United. I believe the rest of the squad is made up of players at the club last season. Not sure that counts as throwing around the $$$

Re: Mitise Pre-Season Cup Round 1

You can't take too much from the results as lots of players missing from all teams and the coaches trying new players to see what they can do

The 6.45pm games were abandoned after 15 minutes due to the lightning storm, but the 8.15pm games went ahead
Comets beat Inter 2-0 and I believe NTC beat Uni 3-2

Re: Mitise Pre-Season Cup Round 1

Hopefully the heavy rain and thunder arrives. To play in high humidity irrespective of the temperature is wrong and dangerous. Humidity is the thing that does damage. Needs to be re-scheduled. Not going to disagree with you Sad Gal, but it was interesting to hear that a number of Adelaide City juni...

Re: FFSA Bringing the game into disrepute

Player is finally fit to play - which is great news. 1st Team playing at the same time as reserves. She didn't make first team, so played reserves. seems fair enough... what am i missing? For me, if their senior team is still in the finals then it should be fine, seniors are out then its a no. (I u...

Re: FFSA Bringing the game into disrepute

As far as the 3 overseas players playing in the cup final, no application had to be lodged as the rules specifically state that the PPS does not apply in the cup and the PPS rules are the only place the visa players rule is mentioned.

Re: WNPL Relegation

[/quote] Great discussion. The NTC should in theory be in WNPL, but on performance, not as a gift. I feel they need a smaller squad along with the younger groups. Too many depleting club land. In reality many current NTC players would not make a WNPL side if they were in club land, there are some qu...

Re: WNPL Relegation

It is believed discussions have been held within the FFSA football dept that it will withdraw the relegation structure at the conclusion of the season should the NTC finish bottom of the ladder. The FFSA want's to avoid the embarrassment of the NTC development program being a failure, especially fo...

I imagine it would be Salisbury United, as they are top of the table by a mile and Campbelltown is bottom.
You would think they should easily account for a very young Campbelltown side...but hey, the magic of the cup!

Sorry BTK if I came across as 'policing' your post. I was merely wondering if you had seen anything of the last couple of City games that may have changed your mind.
I agree there's still a long way to go, but from what I have seen, City are the stand out team currently.

Re: Round 11

BTK, do you still stand by your comments posted after Round 9 that City is not the stand out team and their dominance is overstated.
In my opinion, they absolutely demolished the team sitting second on the ladder and made it look like they were doing training drills around mannequins

Re: WNPL and the Media

The Men's NPL season is kicking off this weekend. Great coverage by the papers and Soccer on 531. 10/10 light of the AFL-W and the exposure they are afforded for 7 week season defies logic. However, Advertiser, the template is set. Time for the FFSA and Advertiser and Soccer 531 to elevate the WNPL...

Re: WNPL Season 2019

Good assessment Galey and I agree. The new team Comets will hit the ground hard with a view to impress. The poor performers of 2018 i.e. Fulham and Westies and Salisbury will (in my view) want to set the tone and will want to tackle it as if its the regular 2019 WNPL season. City, Metro and Westies...

Re: WNPL Season 2019

What do you think about Mitise Cup's matches? Uni, City, West and Metro will have an easy win? Not so sure about that. Typically, coaches use pre-season games to have a look at new or fringe players, try out different formations and generally get some fitness into the players. Will be interesting t...

Tough round to pick, with only Westies a clear favourite
Fulham v West Adelaide: Westies by quite a few
Cumberland V Inter: Draw
Uni V NTC: NTC
City V Metro: City to win by the odd goal
