It appears a number of trials are basically happening at the same time which may cause issues for some. ie go for a trial at one club get a way through the process, dont make it and then not having your second option to go to? Probably would be fairer but would be rife with clubs abusing it for their own ends. For a kid in that situation it would be far better to look for a team in the B or C division as a first port of call. Should players be able to play down especially in the younger age groups if they arent confident enough or there ability isnt at the level needed to be able to handle there actual age group? Say a player just starts playing under 10's for the first time and the players he plays with and against have...
