Re: Over 35's Friday v Sunday Debacle

My news is that 15 clubs have registered for over 35's this year with the increase in numbers being due to the possibility of Friday nights rather than Sundays. League had been looking to split it into 2 competitions and accidently released a draft fixture list, of the teams that had fixtures on Su...

Re: Over 35's Friday v Sunday Debacle

If they do have one league with some Sunday games we would and probably other clubs forfeit those Sunday games as we have had a few players that are playing based on it being Friday nights. So I cant see that being good for those Sunday home game teams, they might only play half a season. I have he...

Over 35's Friday v Sunday Debacle

In typical SAASL fashion there has been a lack of clarity surrounding the proposed move to Friday nights for the O/35 competition. It seems with the proposal a lot of clubs have jumped on and entered a team. After the fixtures dropped today there are a number of clubs that are supposedly not happy t...

Re: Over 35's 2018 Mega Thread

Cheers For posting them Htfac. Sounds like there are a few leagues that are having numbers change at the death and a few fixtures are still getting sorted. You would think they need to have a stronger cut off date moving forward. So who are the teams that pulled out late of the 35’s? Vista? Para Hil...

Re: Over 35's 2018 Mega Thread

At this stage I believe fixtures are still a work in progress due to clubs not able to confirm having a +35s team and hence don't know if its a 14, 13, 12 or 11 team league. Ive heard variations of all 4 so far. Added to this is that clubs are requesting that +35s games try and follow their 1st tea...

Over 35's 2018 Mega Thread

Hey all, I have some questions about the upcoming season, but I thought it was just as well to start a thread that can be added to for other issues/inquiries etc. as the year goes on. Anyways, I have heard a few rumblings about a significantly shortened season for the Over 35's this year (apparently...

Re: How many more clubs??

When Mawson Lakes was started by a group of mates a few years back, it was decided that the club would play on Sunday's as that was the best day for availability for the core group. It's a shame to see the club fold, we put a fair bit of work in to get it started, but i'm sure it won't be long befo...

League told us last year that it was interchange Referees are not appointed to games within the C Grade league It just seems that some clubs are unaware of what is going on, blame those clubs not the league. We have had a team in the stand alone/C saturday league (that is currently Div.7) for three years and we have found that most teams are happy to play interchange and haven't really had an issue with it. Mate you haven't really processed what I said. Two years ago 80% of the teams in the Saturday league we played in were 3pm starts (standalone teams and Saturday teams entities for Sunday clubs). At present there are 50% of teams that are standalone or a Saturday team of a tradional Sunday club. So w...

Re: Division 7 Fixtures

This was happening last year in this division. Teams moaning about KO Times. Mount Compass has always been 3PM KO as with Munno Para and Angle Vale. The League ask what our KO time's are, so we don't dictate what we want, maybe blame the SAASL as it's it's them who sort the leagues out. As said we ...

Sat Div.7 Munno Para 2 Titans 1 (0-1 at half time). Score line probably flatters MP a little, but were comfortably in control after about half an hour.
Cheers to the group of Monarchs boys who stuck around for a drink and free feed. You'd be surprised how many clubs won't even stick around when there is free food on offer!

Munno Para win on forfeit against Red Blue Eagles. An absolute joke that a team is forfeiting in round 3. They forfeited against Bosa in round 1 at half time now in round 3. Re: "C+" team Cup Competition?

Not that it matters any more but I'm personally against it. The C Team is more about having a kick on a Sunday with mates and been able to remain involved at your club. Yes there are a few guys who are B's players coming back from injury or looking to find some form but I think 18 games is enough. ...

The other issue, one which I raised on the weekend when I bumped into a referee, was whether we have enough referees. Thay may be an issue. This could prove to be an issue, but I guess one school of thought is that club referees do league games so why should it pose too much of a problem in the cup...
