Re: Arsenal 2018/2019

^^^^^^ It was Xhaka with the header. Another one of his errors costs us again. This was always going to be a season of ups and downs, and after the 22 match unbeaten run (which masked a lot of our weaknesess) this is now one of the real downs. But Emery’s job is to turn things around. He might get s...

Re: Arsenal 2018/2019

Surprised to see that Arsenal are now prepared to let Aaron Ramsey leave on a free transfer at the end of the season. I guess they're hoping to sell him in January, but why would any club pay a fee when they can wait five months and pay nothing? Maybe he'll come to Spurs, we love a deal  A bi...

I'm really surprised that none of the Goons have been on here boasting about their brave new dawn  Looked like same old, same old, to me  He's had 5 weeks of training and one competitive game! Re: Arsenal 2017/2018

As an Arsenal fan i feel bad for Ox (only a little though) Was just starting to show the kind of form that warranted his big transfer fee. With all the other purchases LFC have made, and them getting stronger, you worry if he'll just be left behind But screw LFC!! (gotta deliver a trophy this season...

Re: World Cup 2018

Would be very surprised if the French do not win it and predict 3-1 in their favour. Think they will be the fresher and have too much pace and skill in their ranks. Would expect Croatia to give it a go but would suspect they will tire as the game reaches the final stages. Brilliant effort by a coun...

Re: Arsenal 2017/2018

Unai Emery's first signing as Arsenal manager is likely to be Stephan Lichtsteiner, a 34-year-old right back late of Juventus, on the bench as much as in the team, and available on a free transfer. It's a bold new era, indeed.  What's so funny? He's a proven winner with loads of experien...

Re: Arsenal 2017/2018

There is a new Manager/Head Coach, a new system, a new structure, a new way of doing things and a new energy at Arsenal and I for one am excited. If only because what we'll have this coming season is something "different". But Arsenal realise that success isn't instant. There's a process i...

Having been a Spurs fan for nearly sixty years, I've seen plenty of new dawns, most often you wake up, the sun's not shining and it's pissing down. You might wel...

Re: Arsenal 2017/2018

That was a hard defeat to take and I feel really bad for Arsenal and Wenger. We were made to pay for our first leg performance when we should’ve taken full advantage of the many chances we had, but instead allowed AM to come away with a draw due to dreadful defending (as seems to be our norm now). A...

Re: Arsenal 2017/2018

It’s over. Nothing left to do but make the inevitable “mutual agreement” decision. Fans are staying away, the players look as though they don’t care/given up and Wenger looks out of ideas as to how to fix it. If you asked me to imagine the saddest possible situation for Wenger, I probably would have...

Re: Arsenal 2017/2018

That could’ve been 4-5 nil but for Cech and some sloppy finishing. We were barely ever in the game. And why do we allow teams so much time and space on the ball? Seems when there was an opportunity to press and apply pressure, we’re just happy to back off and allow Tottenham to play. I feel for Laca...

[quote="N5 1BH"] I liked Theo, wish him well, much like Giroud a decent player not played to his strengths and mostly misused by a manager that’s obviously gone quite mad. I agree. I think Theo needed to separate himself from Arsenal and Wenger. I'm glad he's started off well with Everton....

Looks like Giroud is gone as well. to Chelsea no less (Arsenal will have this month sold three players who scored 65 goals between them last season - all to rivals).
Unlike most people, I rated him and felt he doesn't get the credit he deserved.

What a shambles that was again. You have to ask how long it can go on without somebody doing something meaningful about it. When you're the manager and you suffer a sixth away defeat, to one of the league's lowest teams, and your players look as if they're not even interested anymore, you've got pro...

We’re a complete shambles and Wenger has to go. He just has to. This thinking isn’t anything new. It’s been obvious now for the last few seasons that his time is up and that he’s sadly past it. You look at managers like Klopp and Guardiola and see what they’ve done to young players like Sterling and...

I should add that I've always loved Wenger, but its obvious that there needed to be a change at the end of last season.

Arsenal could've let Wenger leave on a high (after the FA Cup win) but the owner/board were just happy to let things coast along as they were.

“Scandalous” penalty decision. International break disrupted the steady climb up the table. Should’ve been in the top 4 now. Unbelievable decision by the referee!
