There are 1.8million persons playing football versus 0.96 million playing cricket.

Its almost 2 to 1 ratio.

Mount Barker also has a version of the E&D teams in the AHJSA league which lets ANY junior of any ability to play at the club regardless and gets the local kids playing soccer full stop with no trials and no 'invitations'! Problem with AHJSA is the games are played on Saturday and that clashes ...

Its reinforcing the strength of the major clubs and making the other clubs second class citizens. There is no specific link to the Skill Acquisition Phase and Game Training Phase other than the changes impact upon those age groups. The reality is that some kids are around 6ft at 12 years of age. You cant judge only on height.

No need for any changes to the football season. If cricket is a problem then cricket should move its season or shorten its season.
