Re: Socceroos Squad

Poor no3 goalkeeper decision. You would go Langerak if you want a quality keeper who could start or bring Gauci if you want to plan for the future. Vukovic is an average keeper who is 37years old. Appears his best attribute is a close relationship with the GK coach. Would have thought Rogic would ha...

Re: Season 2020

Player power is a difficult issue to manage. Sometimes its justified. Often its not. There is always a ringleader and it requires strong leadership to weed them out of the player group.

Re: World Cup nightmare has come true

Two schools of thought ont his: 1. The pool of players at Ange's disposal is the shallowest it has every been. He does not have the players available to select or 2. The tactics (including player selections) employed by Ange mean he is not getting the best out of the players he has at his disposal. ...

Re: Sturt Marion to close up shop

Legally you are correct. In pragmatic terms you are incorrect. Next season the same junior girls will be playing at the same venue with the same coaches and the key difference is they will be called Cove instead of Sturt Marion. Takeover, merger, adoption, absorption, subsumed, transition, call it w...

Re: Sturt Marion to close up shop

We can debate the semantics. Cove have taken over. The chairman of Cove has emailed all the parents and players of Sturt Marion this morning.

Junior teams will continue on under Cove and will train and play at the same Sturt Marion facility.

Re: Sturt Marion to close up shop

Sturt Marion were never in dire straights. They just have no one who is willing to do any work to keep the club running. The music has stopped and the chairs are vacant. The few that were left have bolted for the exit door. They are probably thinking it is a lot easier to take their daughter to anot...

Re: Very Interesting Today On The Radio

If Campbelltown have 350 players @$1000 on average, that's $350,000. Do their expenses total $350k? Their expenses probably exceed $350k. The balance to break even will be made up from revenue from other sources. Its economics. If the price was too high then people would not buy the product. Until ...

Re: Kudos and bouquets to the FFSA

I heard the same rumour about replacing the underlay but it hasnt been done. Other story I heard is changing the infill from cork to rubber. Lets hope they get around to softening the ground at the Shores. Good on the FFSA for doing something positive here for Women's football. Are the Women's teams...

Re: What to do when your opposition has only 9 players?

What do you do when your opposition only has 9 players? Our opponent had 3 players pull out on the morning of the game leaving them with only 9 players. Half way through the game they lost another player to injury leaving them with only 8 players on the field. Do we have any flexibility to lend the...

Still more work to be done at United with more players to be brought in.

Both Swansea goals came from a deflection or miss kick. Thats what happens to you when your in a rut.
