Re: Skilleroos trials 2021

as per previous comment I would say teams have been selected already and they are looking for one or 2 standouts.

'How can a kid, who’s dad is one of the coaches made it through'

haha this has and will always happen. its not what you know, its who you know.

Re: Where to send Juniors in 2021

i would have to agree, he is 10 yrs old, pick a club and let him make friends and enjoy it. if you want to push him more, have a look at one on one coaching as a separate thing. At 10 he should be enjoying team sport.

Re: Isn't JSL designed to develop player's for JPL?

in my opinion it has been very rare to see players move up to JPL from JSL, previous comments have said that it is usually the other way round and that would seem to be the point. It would seem that some clubs give players and parents the promise of promotion but are really bringing more kids in for...

Re: playing up a year level

Got that exact issue right now. 1) Dont join a club 4 months after trials and expect to do whatever the fk you like. 2) The decision will be made by the TD if they player should play up.or not. 3) Abide by the process or piss off. exactly right. it should only be decided by the TD not the parent/ch...

Re: playing up a year level

thoughts on this, can it be beneficial for the player involved... the most important question is who decides this, the coach, player or parent? Should be the coach(es) in consultation with TD or development manager (whatever you call it). It should be made clear from outset that if you are good enou...

Re: Junior coach support

Would it be standard practice for clubs to pay for the out off pocket expenses for junior coaches courses ? Some courses are breakfast cereal courses run by academics , cost lots of cash , and effectively bribes your way to some badges which dazzle the unsuspecting. Doesn't mean they can coach. The...

Re: SAP ?

U11 SAP for my son this year was waste of time. Just saying. Definitely not doing it next year. No intensity, trying to bring strong kids' level down to average, not the average kids up. Games were barely coached, some "privileged" kids never been rotated from striking position. 2-3 sessions at any...

Re: Adelaide City huge fee hike confirmed

this is why soccer will go nowhere in this country, the funding pyramid should be from the top down not the bottom up. $1400 for your kid to play 1 season is bordering on ridiculous, High Performance Academy, TD for every couple of age groups, top coaches blah blah blah.....problem is that as long a...
