Re: Good Coaching Bad Coaching

If a coach is well planned ahead and delivers their sessions as programmed the kids will soak it up like sponges. The kids will pass when they feel they should pass they will go 1v1 when they want and sometimes make plenty of mistakes also which you want as they will never truely learn without mista...

Re: Let kids practise losing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love how much my 9 year old loves his football and his dedication and attention towards his skills training. What I love more is when I see him after I come home from work and he is on the enclosed trampoline flinging his body around, punching the air, doing spin kicks, making sound effects while ...

Re: volunteers.... the good, the bad and the ugly.

There are some great volunteers and parent helpers out there and usually it is them time and time again helping, setting up and refereeing. What really gets me annoyed though is out of the ones that never help & never referee (and as you said some believe it's the clubs problem) if that is there...

I was particularly impressed with one parent who pointed out to me that as it was School holidays, why did we not train during the day for several days. He seemed surprised when I told him that unfortunately I still had to go to work!!! can't you take annual leave? Because you save your...

Re: St Pauls Old Scholars Soccer Club

I remember playing for the year 12 first team as I had come from another school and said I can't play due to club commitments. PE football coach chardonnay said I had to play and bad luck and laughed about it to my face. I mentioned about a roosters player (who later become an AFL player for two tea...

Re: Performance enhancing substances

Venom is not needed to score a goals but does help. The right placement, body positioning and field positioning/runs does score you plenty of goals though. I have kids that are physically smaller and have more venom than the stronger ones nothing to do with leg strength etc but they listen and are e...

Re: FULHAM UNITED SOCCER CLUB COACHING POSITIONS 2014

I have some friends in the Fulham C Team that I'd love to poach for our Cs/Bs - hence my concern about your C Team. You must have rocks in your head mate - who the hell is going to go from Fulham to play in a feral place like Salisbury - look what good it did Pontians going up North? They would rat...

more importantly for you is div1 is twice as hard to stay up as you know.
that is why it is so important to have a good crack at winning it while you are present in it.

Re: LUCK HAS ENDED

Well done Lucky.. Cracking last goal to go out on. To put his goal into perspective we were 2-1 up after trailing 1-0 with the game still in the balance. Pretty much 1 min before half time break he cut in from the left sideline and let a screamer go. He took us to half time 3-1 up and we know what a...

Re: Can Fulham pull off a miracle escape?

Though football is a funny game with twists and turns.. Reality suggests Pontians to lose against Downs & Gardens.
Downs did have a lot on the line and drew to Fulham the bottom side so Pontians always a chance for 3 points against Downs. Dont see Gardens dropping points.

Serious question and not an attack- as you don't have men's first team reserves etc.

What is the pathway for those kids now and in the future that get to that age where they are ready to move onto men's FFSA?

Just parents making excuses and causing trouble within while trying to fulfil their own dreams through their child and would benefit better just playing school football. .There are obviously bad apples in the coaches & child scenario but like mentioned above usually the coach (child) player is t...

I coach an under 9's team and have witnessed many a weird decisions against us but end of the day if the opposing team enjoy the fact that they can say they won the game good for them. It's not even worth mentioning that a wrong decision was made to them at the end of the game as then they will beli...

Re: Wenger chasing Spanish Superstar

To me Suarez is using Arsenal to force Real Madrid's hand as he wants CL for the whole comp for next years World Cup prep. He would be gambling with Arsenal as they still have to qualify. Could be wrong but who knows we all speculate. If and if Suarez signs for Arsenal you will probably miss him for...

You can't have it both ways though. Football is more business these days with alot of $$$$$ you can't openly go on that you may return to Barcelona if Valdes leaves and have your father having an input in the media also basically saying what would happen. Barcelona has got a lot of good players usin...

Re: Goals vs stats (possession%)

Playing out from the back with possession creates confident skilful players at an early age. They hate it at first but persist and they grow in confidence. Playing out from the back with posession helps in kids learning to play out wide using the width without them really understanding the whole tac...

Anyone seen the proposed fixtures for 2013. I know currently it is proposed and will change but alot of the age groups with 3 teams from the one club in one group is a joke. These kids play internals and train on the same nights and get to play each other enough throughout the year. To me seems some...

Re: Why no media circus bandwagons here.

Think the agenda towards Suarez is bordering on reverse
racism for the sake of a media beat up against him.
Match against Mansfield he clearly pulls his arm away
And slumps his shoulders when kicking the ball
into the net as if it was going to be disallowed.
