Re: Season 2020

Baggio I think you've supported the argument in the question you ask: Inequity and sexism. To remunerate and not the other is inequitable. The other long standing and stupid discussion is about self sufficiency (gate takings etc). no one team gets enough through those means to pay its over paid npl...

Re: Season 2020

There seems to be the assumption that teams who don't pay do this due to some inequity or sexism.

The reality is one WNPL club which also has a senior means teams pay neither team.
This is due to their constitution not allowing for this to occur.

Re: Adel Utd Coach to be Offered Further Contract Extension

Pretty naïve for you to ask me for names of clubs who do. I think you would be far better asking who doesn’t. Given my experience represents a small sample size, junior and women’s fees have bolstered the men’s game fees. Ask yourself, up until recent times, how many players in the WNPL were gettin...

Re: Adel Utd Coach to be Offered Further Contract Extension

We definitely overachieved last season but this year is a case of back to reality . The visa players definitely made a difference last season whereas this year many failed to live up to expectations. Maybe it's team to look at an AUFC WNPL side so Ivan can work with the players year round? Strongly...

Re: Lady Reds - Wooden Spooners

A good coach would arrange for a group of local talent and coach them throughout the year ready for the big league and then top up with overseas/interstate talent. Not the other way round. Pretty sure that's what Ivan has been requesting for a couple of years now. Would NPL coaches/clubs be happy h...

Re: Head Coach Needs to Resign

Mattrish has less experience coaching females than Ivan. Ivan for me is a strong communicator and outstanding coach. Not every decision made will work and that's part of a personal journey all coaches go through. I've no doubt this year will lead to changes in his approach. He's also not the first ...

Re: AUFC-W v Melbourne City

Hmmmm. Yep. It's doom and gloom. Yep. It's poor finishing. Yep. Almost chances. The stats will show the W-L-D and if I were an investor or CEO with AUFC-W, the return on what I've put into the women's programme is 0. Better results = better exposure and validation of the programme = better funding ...

Re: AUFC-W v Melbourne City

WSW was a narrow loss that finishing cost us, had a 1 v 1. SYD we had the best chance and had we finished better was a sure win again a 1 v 1. MCity we were second best against a quality side. I don't see doom and gloom. As a coach we work to create chances and keep the opposition out. So on review,...

Re: FFSA Bringing the game into disrepute

Whether we accept this particular rule or not, the rule was incorporated for a reason. Some of you have indicated that it was ok that an exemption was granted. Where do you draw the line. What if another issue arises, is it ok for the FFSA to offer an exemption again. Where does it stop. Unfortunat...

Re: WNPL Relegation

Interesting discussion about relegation. If this was to occur then someone like the longstanding and respectable Cumberland should and would be very angry. I cannot blame them. They are a club with juniors, supporters and a long history vs NTC that has little in the way of a club and junior set up ...

Qld have just introduced a talent center for the this season. I believe the U13-14 play in the U15 NPL girls division and the older group U15-16 play in the U18 NPL girls ages groups. All clubs are provided with the NPL curriculum as a guide to base session plans around. This is how a friend in QLD ...

Re: Players Wanted WNPL Senior Premier League Clubs

Wouldnt it be good, when those current player contracts run out, and new players are "recruited" players into the system, should be a rule that out going players return to the club they came from, for at least one season. I heard, last year one club provided over 20 players in different age groups ...

Very valid points.

Hard to find and even harder to maintain.

On the money with over working the few who give their time and it often leaves people feeling unappreciated.

Re: WNPL Season 2019

Is everyone across the subs rule changing from 4 down to 3 for season 2019. Out of interest other states differ. VIC, NSW and WA 5 subs at WNPL level with QLD 3. I prefer the 4 we had or even 5 like other states as that way you can give exposure to more players hopefully increasing the standard over...
