Re: World Cup 2018
VAR is only used for Australia's games... as a punishment, because we complained about it too much in the A League.

Re: And then there were 26.
Well, the game was quite good and gave the squad a good workout, despite the opposition's inability to offer much resistance or threat in front of goal. Rogic was very disappointing, in my opinion, never quite got into the game, nor did Nabbout despite his excellent goal. Mooy, despite being named ...

Re: AFL Returns to Hindmarsh
They are not playing it at Adelaide Oval because it is a small scaled version of their full sized game. Would look ridiculous at AO.. and even they realise this. I think they are crazy to further dilute their "great" game in an attempt to upset soccer's popularity. If comments on footy for...

Re: AFL Returns to Hindmarsh
Australian football returns to "Hindmarsh Oval", 113 years after the West Torrens Football Club set up its home on Manton Avenue So what do you mean to highlight? Is it that there was no Hindmarsh 113 years ago as far as I know, the stand at Hindmarsh was the Bailetti stand, but maybe Man...

Re: Socceroos are coming to town..
Let's be realistic. If the Wallabies came to town with no promotion, you'd probably find 10,000 at the game. When the Socceroos come to town with no promotion, you'd still get 20-30,000 easily. Advertising will get us an extra 15-20,000. I'm sure there will be a bunch of people on Thursday saying &...

Re: ENGLAND v AUSTRALIA
Kingswood stated that Cahill playing for Australia was not as ridiculous as Hargreaves playing for England. By blood lines, he's proven wrong, as Hargreaves has English blood, but Cahill has no Australian blood at all. In fact, Cahill has spent very little time in Australia, the majority has been s...

Re: ENGLAND v AUSTRALIA
Owen Hargraves' dad is English & his Mum is Welsh. At least he has some English blood. Cahill doesn't have a drop of Australian blood, only English & Samoan. What is "Australian blood"? Australia is a country of immigrants, both recent and a bit older. Hargreaves initially c...

Re: ENGLAND v AUSTRALIA
Cahill is an off the bench player now. Definitely the best Australian born player Australia has had. English father, Samoan mother, learn his trade in England. I think he represented Samoa as a 14 y.o. How very Australian! Cahill playing for Australia is not as ridiculous as Owen Hargreaves playing...

Elizabeth Downs lost 0-2 to Azzurri around 1985....we were struggling in Dvision 1 and Azzurri were fairly high up in the SASF Division 1 at the time....Donald Campbell was referee. MU Findon and Madison Park
Looking at some old Federation Cup scores from 1977 the other day, it's interesting to see how some SAASL clubs were superior to many Federation clubs. MU Findon, SAASL champions that year, thrashed 3rd division Federation club WRE 9-1, before losing 2-0 to 2nd div Port Adelaide in the next round. M...

Woodside didn't become Polonia.... although some of their players may have later played for Polonia. Woodside changed their name to Portsmouth-Plympton in 1953 and folded up in 1955. In 1952 they weren't even playing their home games at Woodside- they played in the South Parklands.. maybe the other ...

Hate to disapoint some people, but Craig Johnston is Australian. Both his parents were born in Australia, as were three of his four grandparents. His parents happened to be on holiday in South Africa when he was born.
