Re: Club Trials

Great discussion here and some great points. We have experienced both sides of the coin. In our first club at U13 level, we embraced the club, attended pre season working bees, all club functions, some senior games and really enjoyed the club atmosphere. We liked the club and wanted to be loyal. End...

Re: FFSA ...YOU'RE A JOKE

When a player swears within earshot of a ref, and particularly after being penalised or carded, it is a grey area whether the player is swearing about the general unfairness of the situation or is swearing directly at the ref. So if the ref percieves that they are being sworn at, it is not a clear c...

Re: Query on Campbelltown U16

While I am sure some teams/clubs are doing this to allow player movements down from higher teams, there is another aspect to consider. Campbelltown have nice clubrooms with bar service and meals available. As a Visiting team last season, we did agree to a Friday night game there early in the season,...

Re: rd 4 results

U17 Salisbury United 5-4 White City (city up 4-1 half time) Should've been 6-4 but their linesman cheated... Why do we have to have this discussion all the time? The lines-person is not a qualified official, they are doing the best that they can. No parent wants the responsibility to run the line, ...

Re: Pre Season Training Already

After several years of observations, Winston has concluded that soccer and cricket do not mix. And it dissapoints me that kids as young as U12, U13 etc are being forced to make a decision one way or the other, when they might actually be good at both sports. Generally speaking, when pre season crick...

Re: U14 JPL League table error?

If you presume 2 will be relegated - could be 1 or 3? Maybe only 1 promoted from U14Bs? Never know how the 15As will be balanced in 2013. Does anyone know how U14A to U15A will work? I am assuming the skillaroo team from 2012 U14 will dispand and players return to their home clubs, while a new squa...

Comets won 1-0. I believe this was effectively a relegation game? Can anyone confirm?

Re: Junior Fees

What do Aussie Rules and Rugby clubs charge for junior fees? Winston's experience for junior Aussie Rules was around the $150 mark, plus approx $50 for umpires fees paid separately once the season started. Player had to buy their own shorts and socks, club provided a playing top which was returned ...

Re: Junior Trials

Winston feels there are 2 sides to the "trials coin", and offers the following observations. From a players perspective, ideally they would be able to trial at more than 1 club (as per Fubar's point - supported by not all trials being at the same time), perhaps get asked to play at more th...

Game not played. No ref and I suspect ground condition was marginal.

I wasn't aware there was a "prior game". The Toros vs Comets U14 JPL A was postponed. Does anyone know why this game was postponed?

Re: league draws

Talk yourself up, but don't lie. You had players walk. Good luck in the A's. Not true. Of the 16 U13 (2011) lads at ABE, only 1 chose not to attend trials. 6 (or maybe 7) who wanted to play were not selected - ie cut. Since selections, I understand maybe 1 further lad has chosen to go elsewhere. I w...

Re: league draws

I have also heard thru the source of all truth...... Facebook ..... that the U13 JPL-B 3rd place ABE are expecting to play in 2012 U14 JPL-A. This is an unconfirmed rurmour......just some lads chatting.
