Re: U23's

Beat Syria 3-1 last night - Blackwood got a brace and really should have had a hat trick if our right winger wasn't greedy and past the square ball to Blackwood. Syria played much better in the second half after being 2-0 down at half time. Got back to 2-1 and pushed hard to get the equalizer but c...

Re: Socceroos are coming to town..

My taxes are paying for it as if they didn't offer it they would make more money. I don't think an overseas visitor is judging making the trip based on whether he has to pay for a bus or not. Finance really isn't your forte, is it. But enough about fiscally befuddled Englishmen. A big crowd tomorro...

Re: Socceroos are coming to town..

Why are my taxes paying for this? They are not. Taxation revenues from all the visitors, fees incorporated into tickets and stadium fees and the like will more than cover the associated costs leaving the state with a tidy surplus. Unless you run a pub around the city centre, in which case the surge...

Re: SASF v FFSA NPL - Crowd numbers & Prize Money

So just some simple maths shows today prize money for say a FFSA championship should be at least $250,000 to the winner minimum. JD, simple maths is using the published inflation amounts, which gives you around AUD105,000 today. It was a different world though, JD, you have to adjust your expectati...

Re: Womens NPL results

 Feisty affairs these ladies' games, four senior games and they managed three yellow cards between eight teams. Do they have referees? Actually they are very feisty games NOC but they just get up and get on with it unlike the men unfortunately. Maybe the refs like that approach :?: Too ...

Re: OS Aussies talk.

Well what a turn around! A month ago he was on the bench of the reserves side. Now Amini has been named in the Dortmund UCL squad to play Arsenal. Problem is a certain 18 y.o. from Cerezo Osaka has turned up, Maruoka, and has gone straight from their reserves to the 1st squad (I believe both play a...

Re: 2014 U19 Asian Championship

Since peaking at 14 in 2009, our FIFA ranking has dropped to 76. The 2006 World Cup squad boasted 15 players in first division of the English, Italian and Dutch leagues – names like Kewell, Viduka, Neill. That number has now fallen to three. Not sure how old that article is however the game against...

Re: LES MURRAY SELLS HIS SOUL

The primary issue here is that Les has reported in his book what he has heard which is being refuted by those who were present at the time. This brings into questions Les' judgement in relation to explicitly trusting his source and raises the question as to how much double checking he did of what is...

It would be nice if it was the Queens Head or Cathedral. Not too far to stagger.
