Re: Matildas/Women's World Cup

Thoroughly outplayed by a relentless China but escaped at the end by equalising to make it 1-1 and top the Group. Kerr and others strangely anonymous for much of the game. They have avoided playing South Korea from the other Group and now meet Vietnam. The main thing is they should now qualify for ...

Re: Matildas/Women's World Cup

I have just watched the worst standard 1st half of a of football match at any grade. You cant blame the coach for everything but imho the Matildas have gone backwards under this guy. It was pretty bad, but maybe the Matildas just forgot what the object of a pass is. Now that Europe is involved and ...

Re: AFC U-23 Championship

Without getting ahead of things, imagine adding the 4 suspended players to the squad PLUS the 3 over-23 senior players allowed in say, Matt Ryan, Aaron Mooy & one other. They could be quite competitive in Tokyo/Japan and have good exposure on prime-time TV in Australia. Glover in goals looked a...

Re: Socceroos - Road to 2019 AFC Asian Cup

I thought Risdon, Behic and Milligan were solid right through the game and were probably Australia's most competent performers. Spiranovic was not bad but didn't appear to be 'match fit', as he was regularly caught out for pace by the Koreans. I am not too keen on McClaren at this level, as I've sa...

Clutch of five Australian players off side from initial shot, but they became onside when the Korean keeper punched the ball out to them. If the game was for points the ref may have pinged Boyle, but he may not of. Who knows?

Re: Socceroos - Road to 2019 AFC Asian Cup

Watched the Australian Football team play South Korea last night. The second team for them because a few based in Europe where given a pass, IMO the SK coach was giving his squaddies a go in a friendly before the Asian cup gets going. Again IMO, Rogic looks comfy playing in the SPFL and doesn't want...

Re: AFL Returns to Hindmarsh

They had international rules at AO last week. The problem with AO maybe the spectators too far from the pitch. Both them and the Irish want to play it in the USA' Obviously it'll depend where they have the exhibition game - Boston = sellout, Seattle = watchers who'll laugh and treat it like t...

Re: AFL Returns to Hindmarsh

Australian football returns to "Hindmarsh Oval", 113 years after the West Torrens Football Club set up its home on Manton Avenue So what do you mean to highlight? Is it that there was no Hindmarsh 113 years ago as far as I know, the stand at Hindmarsh was the Bailetti stand, but maybe Man...

Re: Never self-report

Whether its an a-league salary cap thing or even an ASADA-type thing, the lesson is not to be a goody-2-shoes and self report on the expectation that you'll be treated leniently. And players , when questioned , should just 'do not recall' - dont cooperate - let the authorities earn their effin mone...

maybe by a margin of 5 goals which I think is a safe figure and then maybe set your team a target of completing a certain amount of passes before shooting or swapping the teams forwards in defence. And no not affiliated to any team who has been thumped. Re: Buckley confident of Depth of squad

WHAT'S BUCKLEY GOT TO DO WITH IT!!

I thought he was just a suit doing a not crash hot job as whatever his position is.
As for team selections and who is in the squad, that's why Holger's contracted surely!

Buckley needs to keep schtum and concentrate on making the FFA a force to be reckoned with.
