The countries that are in it do. I'm very excited for this.

Re: The road to Moscow

Anyone ever thought that the system needs to be changed because everyone in Asia has worked out how to beat it now? Physical power and speed are nno longer enough, we need to find players who can run with the ball without putting it twenty metres ahead of them and hoping no one wakes up to the fact...

Re: The road to Moscow

Of course I know it's not as simple as subbing another player in. But clearly he under-estimated the Thais thinking that a totally un-match-fit Kruse was up to 90mins. The talent pool isn't huge but IMO it's bigger than Ange is willing to go with at this stage. The Thai squad was entirely made up o...

Not the most accurate use of statistics but they raise the point of why some players are getting regular sooceroos time without regular club time.

Re: Young Socceroos - U20s

I think creating a mandatory exercise program for communities (especially youth) would fix a number of health issues that the community faces. I think it would also reduce crime and improve community engagement. Social capital is a hard thing to quantify but its clear community sport is a key eleme...

Re: Young Socceroos - U20s

Children today have much different home lives and out-side influences compared to the past. So I think that has an impact. You can have the best coaches and set ups in the world but in the end that's only part of the equation. Of course. Although those influences Okon and Les are talking about are ...

Some interesting comments from Les Murray on the topic. http://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/blog/2016/11/16/our-missing-and-misfiring-new-generation He does make some good points and things raised before. France re-newed their footballing culture in the late 80's early 90's. They won the World Cup in 19...

Re: The road to Moscow

Socceroos Vs Kruse. How that bloke got 90 mins is beyond me. Any time the ball went near him that was the end of the attack. He must he played himself offside about 5 times. I know beggars can't be choosers but surely offering players that aren't playing at all for their clubs isn't the best idea. ...

Re: WA signing fowler

Development-wise that sounds good. But the FFSA has zero fans. Who is going to attend an FFSA FC team? The point I see of a second club would be to offer a point of difference to AU. Whether that be location, representation or image. I can't see FFSA being significantly different to what AU represe...

 Yeah that's the only reason they moved out North. Imagine if the club actually had to money to make calls like that. FFSA back team. Ok that makes more sense. I'd be happy to see that once they actually make the NPL season a decent length. You do know that Adelaide United was a Federation bac...

Re: WA signing fowler

It has been good publicity for West Adelaide and Adelaide City over the past month in terms of them trying to get into the A-League or second division. But, i can tell you that if there was to be a new team in those competitions, it will be a FFSA backed uniformed club, similar to the approach Foot...

No, your comments are farcical. Same old b. u. l. l. s. h. i. t all the time!! There is no doubt that starting all over again when establishing the A-League has been an unqualified success. The game is now a "mainstream sport" in Australia and not on the periphery. I say this even though ...

Actually, isn't Manchester, sorry Melbourne, City's badge ethnic? It looks very much like the original MC badge to these tired, old eyes. There is still no way WAH will get into the A League, as they have no supporters, well nowhere near the League's basic requirement of 5,000, potentially. The Mel...

Amazing how many people on this thread see this as a negative. Regardless of whether it's West Adelaide, Adelaide City, the bottom team from State League 2 or your mate's O35s side, any mention of any NPL or SL team in the paper is a WIN. It is a negative because the ex player involved is consideri...

I bet he will be next in line for the top job when Ange moves onto a higher role overseas. The role might already be promised to him to get him into the set up. I'm not so sure. IMO his coaching style is more suited to youth sides learning a system. Much of his coaching career has been with youth s...

You aren't allowed to use junior results to assess our development programs. How many of our current senior team are products of the national curriculum? National curriculum as in the FoE?
