Re: St Pauls Old Scholars Soccer Club

I can see it now, in the classic 4-4-2 formation, Larwood in goals of course, the full backs basically pick themselves and we would need some fearless, solid centre halves. In the middle, a General and another with unrivalled flair and creativity, while the wide men would cover a lot of ground to t...

Re: C License

The C licence is a significant step up from the junior courses but if you are serious about wanting to understand how to coach junior soccer players to be technically competent and develop players with the right habits then it's a must. is there lots of work to be done outside like assignements etc...

Kids still need to want to win, its that mentality that separates the good from the elite. its up to the coaches to ensure that the w...

I know when I was there soccer was a naughty word, and the pinnacle of achievement was to be awarded your 1st xviii Guernsey in front of the whole school. Good luck with it all. ...

Re: 'Modernise or perish'

The reasoning behind the 4-3-3 philosophy is not about the formation per se. It's all about the development of the individual at junior/youth level. It's the best formation to help develop technically gifted 'attacking' players. Most coaches should be aware that's it's easier to teach players/teams...
