Re: EPL 20/21

Very impressed by Liverpool today (not sure how the penalty gainst us wasn't given), but considering the injuries we have, it was superb. Obviously they can't all start every gane but VVD, Gomez, TAA, Henderson, Thiago, Oxlaide-Chamberlain, Shaqiri and Salah all missing at once is not great. Could ...

Re: EPL 20/21

Lucky, lucky Arsenal ;-) If you don't score you don't win games Cyril  Pepe should never be seen in an Arsenal shirt again.. Arteta needs to treat him as he did Guendouzi He reminds me of Adebayor, talented but lazy, much better at waving his arms than defending. Arteta's problem is that Auba ...

No wonder they support VAR.

Re: EPL 20/21

Mane's caught the diving bug. I think we need to decide, is this a contact sport or not? All forwards have to do is push and run into the defender, who realistically now has to just get out of the way. Clearly you didn't see the Spurs game again. Why don't you watch Kane and comment :shh: Either ad...

Some crackers this week, the refs are getting worse.

Ludicrous penalty against Gomez, ludicrous offside against Bamford, the list just goes on and on.

Re: EPL 20/21

No creativity at all in another lacklustre performance.. Love him or hate him, however Ozil should be playing in our side Credit to Villa thou, very good performance Ozil is the sort of player you build a team around, rather than him being part of a team. Bags of talent, but he is lazy and needs a ...

I see where your are coming from, but I think Spurs playing with 10 men most games, and the England captain sitting out half the season is not good for the game in general.

Re: EPL 20/21

I thought that was important then the last line, which I quoted, seems to supercede it? My only point is he ensures he gets the foul, but he is not cheating. No different from the likes of Kane who is loved and doesn't get a grilling on MOTD etc. It takes proper 'excessive force' to knock our 'Arry...

You left out this bit though “in a manner considered by the referee to be careless, reckless or using excessive force:” I’m sure we all agree deep down that officiating of the game is very very poor Reffing is awful, but I do feel a bit for them as they're directed by the idiots at FIFA etc, who ha...

Re: Awer Mabil's dream almost achieved

Back on topic, it seems like Awer's dream is becoming more of a nightmare, as they've lost bot games so far, 4 - 0 and 2 - 0, and failed to create one decent chance to score in both. But at least he's played 90 minutes of both matches so far. v Atalanta 11. Mabil Substituted for Vibeat 75' minutes ...

Re: Klopp hails Rashford

Why does all the money go to developing the southern counties despite the Northern Counties paying the bulk of taxation monies? I'm not sure exactly where the 'North' starts, but where do you get that idea? London alone generates over a fifth of UK GDP and an even bigger slice of taxation. By the t...

Re: Klopp hails Rashford

Can’t defend what players are paid because its indefensible but the EPL is a major contributor to the UK economy. Over 3 billion quid paid in taxes alone each year with players contributions over 1 £ billion of that. Rashford is on PAYE and his wages are public so shouldn’t be too difficult to work...

But VAR failed and didnt overturn the disallowed goal. If two players are standing in offside positions next to the keeper in the 6 yard box and they're not interfering ......... Yes, just need someone to stand up in Australia and do it for the downtrodden children here. It's a very laudable cause, but it would be nice if some of the multi-multi-millionaires actually made a meaningful contribution from their own pockets, rather than lobbying the Government (funded by us pov...

And so the saga continues......... Sadly I doubt those running the game will ever admit that VAR hasn't quite ironed out the intentions it was set up for and it will be here to stay. It's not the technology of VAR though, it seems to have scrambled the refs' brains and they can no longer make a dec...

Re: EPL 20/21

VAR up to it's normal self this morning.. How can two referees look at Pickford's, I won't call it a tackle, lunge on VVD and do absolutely nothing? I'm sure the intention was not to hurt him, but if a midfielder did that he'd be off immediately, don't even need to check the monitor for those. It's...
