Re: How to improve the SAASL in 2017 and beyond

- hire more people - to be able to police all the nonsense that goes on in a timely manor - penalize clubs/players who do the wrong thing, not just a slap on the wrist - focus energy on running a proper soccer/ football competition - not on how much money is in the bank , if it means the powers that...

Re: Is SAASL a shambles

Sure the SAASL can invest money into the game, but if you attend the AGMs you will realise how the interest from the SAASL savings has been used to keep fees down for so long (acting as a cash subsidy for every SAASL amateur Club). If your Club can afford to pay extra for affiliation fees and playe...

Re: Is SAASL a shambles

With the funds the SAASL have they should be able too - Stamp out all the illegal players in a quick and swift manor. How much money would it cost to get an independent person to go view a game on a Saturday or Sunday and take video/photos of a game? $100 at the most? Hire and extra person at SAASL ...

Re: Is SAASL a shambles

Its ok they have 1.5mill sitting in the bank... non profit organization has that much money just sitting there but don't worry about investing money into referee training- the refereeing efforts this season that I've seen have been nothing short of embarrassing, having said that the way they get tre...

Re: Amateur referees poor knowledge of The Laws Of The Game

3 - There is a limited budget [/u][/i]for assessors, and limited pool of assessors, to improve the knowledge and skills of referees. It is quite possible that nobody finds out about these mistakes as there is nobody there on the day. So in summary, if you are unhappy with the standard of refereeing ...

Re: Amateur referees poor knowledge of The Laws Of The Game

It can be helped he can blow the whistle before the player/ goalie treks that 10 to 50 metres to get the ball! the ref can see how far the ball has gone surely they can just blow the whistle if they are planning on doing it as soon as they friggen get back!!!! Then you'd be whingeing he blew the wh...

Re: Amateur referees poor knowledge of The Laws Of The Game

I particularly like when the ball goes out for a goal kick / throw in and the player/ goalie go get the ball ( sometimes takes quite some time to go get it) only for the ref as soon as the kick or throw us taken blows for half or full time ! Not sure if that's a law or not but fk it's seriously ann...

They call it Draft pick preferences in AFL :)
- Essendon didn't have a enough players this season, instead of just letting them die the afl bent the rules to accomodate a long established club during a tough time.

AFL and A league would be dead and buried if you were in charge ! And yes if your club was genuinely struggling you should get some help! what else are the saasl going to spend there treasure chest on if not to give back to the clubs that support them? How do you know we're not genuinely struggling...

The issue was about players not money. Why should SAASL help one club at not all of them? sorry, but Budapes are a good club and sad to see them go but I don't pay my fees to support other clubs. With 1.5mill they could help all the clubs for the next few decades... And should another well establis...

Teams folding and crossing to FFSA is going to be the norm now- the shambles that is the saasl really need to start re investing and run the comps properly.
