Re: Where is SAASL heading..
Just to clarify the reasons for the sticking points re the SAASL not joining the FFSA. The SAASL administration wished to continue running the amateur league to protect its principles such as reasonable fees and suggested a deal for fixing fees for 5 years and not let the amateur league become a cas...

Re: Interesting comments about wanting Amatuers to join FFSA
Some years ago when the attempt to merge happened I had a conversation with the President of the SAASL as to the reasons it failed..... from what I can remember the only two sticking points were the self management and fees! There would be no self management, FFSA wanted total control and they refus...

Why doesn't the league write to all the clubs and ask them if they want to play in the cup..... say call it the 'I Love Football Cup'.... or even better the 'I'm A Real Footballer Cup'? The others could join the 'Forfeit Cup'.... the winner is the last to pull out before KO! lol

Re: Ref cancels match after bash threats
Pontian have a history and should be thrown out of the league! A few years ago my club experienced them rioting when two players clashed their whole contigent (at least 30 maybe more) ran in to 'kill' our player, (who by the way didn't swing first). The brother of the player being attacked went over...

Apparently Federation too weak to deal with Down's as they are refusing to cooperate and attend a requested meeting, so can continue their physical intimidation (and brutality) of opposition sides!

There are no official changes to KO times for teams playing Pirie as far as anyone knows but if you want to come to an arrangement they welcome it. If in doubt check with the league and don't forget the Ref.

Suspended Player Wins Amateur League Best & Fairest!
It hasn't happened yet (or has it!).... think about it, it's a possibility that a player that should have been suspended from a match but the club, pleading ignorance, still played him, he gains three votes which ultimately helps him win the Amateur League B&F due to League Committee inaction......
