Adelaide Utd v Perth Glory

Happy to get 3 points. Perth can thank their keeper for keeping them in it, she made 2 fantastic saves to deny Emily Condon in the first half.

Re: Canberra Utd VS Adelaide Utd

Have to agree that it looks like a very unbalanced squad overall. Lots of players that we have seen as wingers, (both forward and back) in their WNPL teams, but not much depth through the spine of the team. There is another name listed on the AU website, 'Maruscka Waldus' listed as a defender. Dutch...

Re: AUFC - W season 2020-2021

It only makes sense if the W-league is a longer season where teams play each other 3 times preferably, or a minimum of twice. The winter 'off season' is then exactly that, a break for the core of the team and senior players to properly recover and then prepare with a proper pre season. The way the m...

Is there anyone around ready to (or interested in) replace the current crop? Seems like the same old faces just get recycled from year to year.

Re: AUWFC Vs Camberra

Weber has been very good creating chances but her finishing has let us down all season. Agreed that Dawber struggled to get into the game, but she has so little support. Araujo has been a huge disappointment for me. Consistently turns the ball over, slow in possession, and doesn't look like creating...

Re: NTC to remain in the WNPL in 2020

The NTC have been given the all clear to remain the WNPL in 2020. Unfortunately, Salisbury United will not be promoted as they are unable to meet the criteria. Again, the FFSA fail to get the competition right with their policies and competition rules. It's simple, create a rule that all division 1...

Huge win by FFSA last night. A great response after taking a hammering from Metro last round. WA never got going and were off the pace all over the park. The young girls will take a lot of confidence out of that game.

Really disappointed in FFSA on Friday night having both WNPL games moved to the back pitch a the Parks while a reserves game had to be called off due to the state of the main pitch. New rubber had been put onto the pitch that afternoon, but not properly brushed in and the ground was deemed unsafe by...

Thought Amber Brooks was excellent last night. Consistently won the ball in the air and in tackles. The imports this year are great quality.
Laura Johns has locked down her place at LB as well, great to see her doing so well.

Interesting article by Adelaide's inimitable Val. Yes Val we get it that the facilities for the women are unacceptable it goes beyond women vs male facilities. I did mean their suburban home grounds. Lindblom Park is a small pitch with spectators right on the touchline. Great if you're Metro. Women's Memorial playing fields is bigger than Hindmarsh. Great if you're used to training on a pitch that big. Then there are the takings from the canteen- Metro do...

I found out about the course after an inquiry about recognition of coaching qualifications from the US (which are not recognised by FFA). However at a cost of $900, reduced from $1200 my daughter who plays and works part time had to decline the offer to attend. looks like there is about 20 people i...

Re: 2018 Women's State League Structure

Juniors is a requirement for WNPL, it only really becomes an issue if they win promotion. Although those SL clubs should be working towards having junior teams in the future. Croydon haven't brought in any junior girls teams this year either which is a little surprising.

That's 7 in's for Metro: Calder, Rigon, Zafaridis, Quigley, +3 from FFSA.

Marie on the 5RTI Soccer program on Saturday said she's only lost 1 from last years squad, plus Steer to come back in at some point.

As long as these clubs have a solid structure in place for the girls/women and they work from the ground up then this should be a good thing for womens football in this state. If clubs think they can just chuck a women's team in with no planning, no structure, no backing, then it will fall apart. Go...

With Hockey in SA they have u9s, u11s, u14s and u18s.....it doesnt work as you might have a team of 12 year olds who have progressed out of u11s up against teams made up of 14 year olds.....very inequitable and makes for potentially one sided competitions. .....which then leads to demoralized and d...

Re: FFSA Shame -WNPL Competition Relegation

Sportsbird a lot of the criticism must be levelled at Campbelltown. They’ve been in prems once before (??) and a part of a bigger unit out there so to go in as they have is inexcusable. What were they thinking? Even if Alex was available she WOULD NEVER be able to single handed make up for 10 other...

I think calling the girls who are playing both codes greedy is bit unfair. They are professional athletes trying to make a living wage. I am not an AFL fan by a long shot and I also don't know how viable the women's comp will be in the long run. But I don't begrudge these women, these professional ...
