Adelaide United Football Club was today advised by Ben Buckley CEO of Football Federation Australia, that they had approved Adelaide United’s request to reschedule its Hyundai A-League Round 11 fixture against the Central Coast Mariners at Blue Tongue Stadium in Gosford from Saturday 8 November to Saturday 15 November.

The FFA’s scheduling change will now provide the Adelaide United players to return from its first leg of the AFC Asian Champions League Final in Osaka Japan, and to totally focus on it recovery and preparation for the 2nd leg of it’s historic participation in the ACL Final.

Adelaide United CEO Sam Ciccarello said the club was thrilled with the FFA’s decision. “We never lost hope during our discussions with the FFA in their consideration of our request, and we recognise the significance of their decision to free up our HAL program between the two legs of the 2008 ACL final.”

Adelaide United Head Coach Aurelio Vidmar said “we would like to thank Ben Buckley and the FFA for rescheduling the game against Central Coast, and giving us the best opportunity to prepare for the Asian Champions League final against Gamba Osaka.”

Sam Ciccarello thanked and acknowledged the support of Ben Buckley and his staff as well as that of Fox Sports and the Central Coast Mariners Executive Chairman, Lyall Gorman, CEO, John McKay and Coach Lawrie McKinna “Whilst it was the governing body’s decision to agree to our reschedule request, we know that without the support of Fox Sports and the Central Coast Mariners, our request to the FFA would not have succeed.”
